  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 12 slices of New York Brand® Texas Garlic Toast
  • 6 slices Jarlsberg® cheese (Regular or Lite)
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 red onion, sliced
  • 1 head red leaf lettuce, washed and dried
  • 6 tablespoons TABASCO® brand Chipotle Pepper Sauce


Preheat grill on high for 15 minutes or until temperature is 400° to 500°.

Shape ground beef into six patties roughly the size and shape of New York Brand® Texas Garlic Toast slices*. Sprinkle patties with salt and pepper, and drizzle with olive oil. Place burgers on grill, and cook 10 minutes for medium or to desired doneness, turning halfway through cooking.

Meanwhile, place New York Brand® Texas Garlic Toast slices on grill, and cook 2 minutes per side or until toasted as desired. Remove from high heat and keep warm on upper grill warming rack until burgers are ready. One minute before burgers are done, top each with a slice of Jarlsberg® cheese and let melt.

To serve, place each burger on a slice of New York Brand® Texas Garlic Toast and top with tomato, onion, lettuce, 1 tablespoon TABASCO® Chipotle Sauce, and another slice of New York Brand® Texas Garlic Toast.

Makes 6 servings.

*For even more flavor, add about 4 tablespoons TABASCO® Chipotle Sauce to the ground meat before shaping patties.
