Place potatoes in a large saucepan and cover with water; bring to a boil over high heat. Add salt to taste, reduce heat to medium and cook until fork-tender, about 15 minutes. Pour into colander and drain well.
Melt butter in the same saucepan and add garlic; cook over medium heat about 30 seconds, then add milk or half-and-half and TABASCO® Garlic Sauce, and heat just until warm. Stir in warm potatoes and mix well, using a potato masher or fork to break up potatoes. Add salt to taste and additional milk to make desired consistency.
Makes 6 to 8 servings.
