  • 2 pounds Yukon gold or red-skinned potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch chunks
  • Water
  • Salt to taste
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 5 large cloves garlic, minced
  • 3/4 to 1 cup milk or half-and-half
  • 2 tablespoons TABASCO® brand Garlic Pepper Sauce

Place potatoes in a large saucepan and cover with water; bring to a boil over high heat. Add salt to taste, reduce heat to medium and cook until fork-tender, about 15 minutes. Pour into colander and drain well.

Melt butter in the same saucepan and add garlic; cook over medium heat about 30 seconds, then add milk or half-and-half and TABASCO® Garlic Sauce, and heat just until warm. Stir in warm potatoes and mix well, using a potato masher or fork to break up potatoes. Add salt to taste and additional milk to make desired consistency.

Makes 6 to 8 servings.

Five cloves of garlic ain't enough for 2 pounds of potatoes, but apart from that, this recipe is great.
