  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 pounds chicken wings (about 8)
  • 4 to 5 cups canola oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons TABASCO® brand Chipotle Pepper Sauce

Combine flour, salt, and pepper in a plastic bag. Remove tips from chicken wings and discard; cut remaining wings in half. Place chicken pieces one at a time in bag and shake to coat well.

Heat 2 inches of oil in a deep skillet to 350°F. Fry chicken in batches until crisp and golden brown, turning occasionally, about 12 to 15 minutes. Drain chicken on a parchment-lined baking sheet and keep warm in oven.

Melt butter in a small saucepan and stir in honey and TABASCO® Chipotle Sauce. Place warm wings in a large bowl and drizzle with butter mixture; toss to coat and serve immediately.

Makes 4 servings.

This is a great sauce base, but it has little heat kick to it. if you want something with some more zing, add a pinch or two of cayenne pepper to the sauce!

Soooo then your recipe for Honey Chipotle Sauce would be 3 tablespoons butter, 2 tablespoons honey, 1.5 tablespoons Chipotle Tabasco; melt butter and stir in the rest? I like it.
