Peppery Pecan Pie

Ingredients

  • Prepared pastry for one 9-inch pie
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 tablespoon TABASCO® brand Original Red Sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups coarsely chopped pecans
  • Whipped cream, optional

Preparation

Preheat oven to 425°F. Place pie crust in a 9-inch pie plate; trim edge and crimp as desired.

Beat eggs lightly in a large bowl; add corn syrup, brown sugar, butter and TABASCO® Sauce and mix well. Place pecans in prepared pie crust and pour filling over pecans. Bake pie 15 minutes; reduce oven to 350°F. and bake 40 minutes longer or until knife inserted 1 inch from edge comes out clean.

Cool pie on wire rack. Serve with whipped cream if desired.

Makes 8 servings.
