BBQ Bacon Jalapeño Poppers
With the addition of TABASCO® Jalapeño Mesquite BBQ Sauce, this recipe delivers a bold and smoky taste.
1 pound thick-cut bacon
1 pound cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese, mild
1/4 cup + 2 tsp TABASCO® Jalapeño Mesquite BBQ Sauce
9 each jalapeño peppers, large
2 tbsp green onion, sliced thin
Preheat oven to 350°F and cook bacon on a lined baking sheet until brown and crispy (approximately 10-15 minutes). Chop cooked bacon into small pieces. Measure a ½ cup of chopped bacon and set the rest aside.
In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, 2 tbsp of TABASCO® Jalapeño Mesquite BBQ Sauce, and ½ cup of chopped bacon.
Cut jalapeño peppers in half lengthwise, remove seeds, and fill each pepper with 2 tbsp of filling.
Preheat oven to 450°F and bake poppers on a lined baking sheet for 10-12 minutes.
Transfer to serving dish, garnish with left over bacon, sliced green onions, and remaining TABASCO® Jalapeño Mesquite BBQ Sauce.
