Summertime Barbecuing
and Grilling
The Perfect Backyard Barbecue Menu
Barbecuing and grilling are not the same, though the words are often used interchangeably. True barbecuing involves cooking meats slowly at low temperatures, whereas grilled foods (meats, seafood and vegetables) are cooked quickly at high temperatures. Nowadays, however, "barbecue" can refer to a barbecue grill itself, or to an outdoor party that features barbecued and grilled foods.
No matter which definition you use, summer is the perfect time for outdoor entertaining. Here's a spicy menu filled with great grilling recipes that keeps the heat out of the kitchen, since all the cooking can be done outdoors.
Most of the meal can be prepared ahead of time and kept in the refrigerator. When your guests arrive, treat them to frosty Jalapeno Coladas and Sun-Dried Tomato Dip with chips and fresh veggies, while the steak and burgers sizzle on the grill.
You just might find your favorite new grilling recipes on the Backyard Barbecue Menu below.
